This is a chance to spend a day in London that avoids the hustle and bustle of the centre of town and so shows a whole new side of our capital. Please meet our guide in Chiswick at 10.30a.m. for coffee. Old Chiswick is a charming, hidden corner of London that has links with artists, artisans, socialism, rowing and even a Redgrave or two. Our walk introduces you to all this against a picturesque back-drop of elegant period town houses and the River Thames. Then we rejoin

your coach to drive to the award-winning London Wetland Centre at Barnes where we have our lunch break. This is a haven for many rare and beautiful wild birds and has been lovingly created from four disused reservoirs. This is an ecological fairy story with a very happy ending and our guided tour gives you an insight into the past, present and future of the Centre. We end with tea and you'll be on your way home by 4.45p.m.
