If Humphrey, Duke of Gloucester hadn't enclosed Greenwich Park back in the 15th century then Greenwich might well have developed in the same way as Docklands. But he did and it didn't, leaving us with a day full of contrasts. After you meet our guide at 10.30a.m. and have coffee we take a look at the elegant glass-roofed Hayes Galleria where once huge amounts of foodstuffs from all over the world were unloaded and stored. From here we drive to St Katharine’s Dock before going on to the atmospheric cobbled streets of Wapping. Our next stop is Canary Wharf where a city for the 21st century has

been built to rival the City of London itself. After our lunch break in Greenwich our guide will take you on an entertaining tour of the historic Old Royal Observatory where the story of time itself is told. This is where you can stand with one foot in the East and the other in the West astride the Prime Meridian line. Then we visit the Old Royal Naval College with its beautiful Chapel and magnificent Painted Hall. This was originally designed as a dining hall for retired seamen, but was so grand that many of them felt more at home eating in the basement below. Finally, it’s time for afternoon tea and you’ll be on your way home by 4.45p.m.
