If money makes the world go around, this is the hub of it all. London's Square Mile has over 2000 years of history and a story which includes money, murder, fire, forgery, heroes and euros.
Our guide will meet you at 10.30a.m. for coffee before we go on a gentle walk of Smithfield including a visit of an unusual church.
After lunch we visit the Guildhall, the home of the City’s civic government for almost nine hundred years and we'll see the magnificent medieval hall.
Then it's off to the Bank of England. Founded by a

Scotsman, the Bank is at the heart of one of the world’s great financial centres. We visit the museum where our guide will give you an introductory talk and then you have a chance to look round on your own. Here, amidst superb architecture, we see gold bars, coins, banknotes — and no, they don’t let us take any samples home! — as well as documents relating to famous customers such as Nelson and George Washington.
We round off with a short coach tour of the City before stopping for afternoon refreshments. You will be heading home by 4.45p.m.
