This two hour walking tour starts by Tower Bridge and explores the South side of the river down as far as Tate Modern. For many years this was a run down part of town. It had suffered both from a decline of local industries and bombing in the Second World War. It has now come into its own and there is much that is new and exciting to look at. Indeed London's Mayor, Ken Livingstone, chose here for the

site of his gleaming headquarters, City Hall. There is also an enormous amount of fascinating history. Our guide will tell you of bishops, bear baiting, brothels and all kinds of naughty goings on in Bankside, London's medieval sin bin. We see a beautifully renovated former dock, two cathedrals, Shakespeare's Globe and Tate Modern, where our walk ends.
