On this tour we explore Sussex's stunning scenery including part of the South Downs, stopping off at some beautiful town and villages. You'll also discover the answers to some interesting questions such as what was Queen Victoria's favourite tipple? And who had 42 illegitimate children, one of whom went on to be Prime Minister?
Our day starts in quaint Petworth where you meet our guide for coffee at 10.30a.m. From here we take the scenic drive through Downland villages to Chichester. Founded by the Romans, Chichester is dominated by a glorious Norman cathedral and our guided walk takes in the Cathedral precincts, Bishops Palace and town centre

with its mixture of medieval and Georgian buildings. Here we stop for lunch. There are lots of eating places to choose from, or you may prefer to bring a packed lunch which will give you time to visit the and you can go into the cathedral if you wish.
In the afternoon we drive to Arundel, a picturebook town which clings to the hills around the river Arun. Dominated by its castle and cathedral — neither being quite what they seem. Our guide will take you on a stroll around town before we return to the coach to see more of the countryside, stopping at Petworth for afternoon tea. You will be leaving for home at 4.45p.m.
