This is a lovely day out in Lincolnshire, enjoying a walking tour of historic Boston, a coach tour of the Fens and visiting a unique butterfly garden. Our guide will meet you at 10.30a.m. in Boston for coffee. Then we set off on foot to explore this fascinating market town. Situated on the edge of the Fens, in the early Middle Ages Boston had the most important harbour in England. It was a boom time and people built fine buildings to show off their wealth. Many still stand today including the magnificent parish church which we visit. We hear of famous past

residents including musician John Taverner, botanist Sir Joseph Banks and John Foxe, the martyrologist. We stay in Boston for lunch and in the afternoon rejoin your coach for a drive around The Fens. Our destination is a garden whose owners have a passion for butterflies. Everyone thought they were mad when they said they were going to create a butterfly garden, but they proved the doubters wrong and delight in showing their wonderful creation to visitors. There is a break for tea before you leave for home by 4.45p.m.
