Our tour today has a bit of everything. An ancient mote house, a prosperous former spa town and some lovely countryside. You team up with our guide at 10.15a.m. in Sevenoaks for coffee. From here it is a short drive to Ightham Mote. Built in the 14th century this picturesque manor house sits surrounded by a moat amidst beautiful gardens. Our guide will tell you all about its history before you visit the house individually and will also be on hand to answer any questions you may have. You may have trouble dragging yourselves away from here, but this is just the start of our day. From here we drive to Tunbridge Wells, an

extremely attractive town. The ‘Wells’ relates to the curative waters which were discovered here at the beginning of the 17th century. Much was promised to those who drank them including being incited to ‘amorous emotions’. We can’t promise that, but it will be an interesting visit. After lunch our guide will take you on a pleasant stroll around the Pantiles area. Then it’s off to discover some beautiful countryside and villages. Our drive takes you through the heart of the Weald of Kent with its hop gardens, orchards and vineyards. No wonder this is called the Garden of England. Finally, we stop for tea and you’ll be waving goodbye to our guide by 4.45p.m.
