This is a day with a bit of everything — an ancient market town; beautiful countryside; and a stunning castle.
You meet our guide at 10.30a.m. in Stamford. Sir Walter Scott described this as “the finest stone town between London and Edinburgh” and who are we to argue with him? Our guide will take you on a delightful walk of the town and after lunch we drive to Rutland, England's smallest county. We wend our way alongside scenic Rutland Water to our final destination, Belvoir Castle, home to the Duke and Duchess of Rutland. The present castle is the fourth to have stood on the site and dates from the 19th century. Our guide

will take you on a fascinating tour of the grandest rooms in the castle. There are also picturesque gardens; a picture gallery with works by the masters; and collections of arms and armour.
At the end of your visit you will have time for tea. You should be heading home by 4.45p.m.
